Inspiring and Nurturing

Pleasant Hill

The Pleasant Hill Community Foundation (PHCF) was founded in 1987 to enhance life in Pleasant Hill. PHCF funds cultural, educational, and recreational initiatives. Notable projects include personalized tiles at City Hall, playgrounds equipment at Pleasant Hill Park, several sports facilities, and the Sprayground at the Pleasant Hill Aquatic Park. Since 1995, PHCF has awarded approximately 600 grants to local organizations to fund a variety of initiatives including the purchase of DEI books, reading programs, stage equipment, and special programming for diverse community groups. An endowed fund at the Foundation, the Holmes Family Fund, honors public Pleasant Hill employees. Through the generosity of Pleasant Hill residents and businesses, PHCF remains committed to enhancing community life by supporting innovative and meaningful projects that make a lasting difference.

Inspiring and Nurturing

Pleasant Hill

The mission of the Pleasant Hill Community Foundation is to strengthen community organizations. Since 1995, we have done so by giving grant awards to educational, recreational and cultural organizations annually each Spring. Periodically we have also given unsolicited Distinguished Service Awards to organizations that provide exemplary service to the residents of Pleasant Hill. Funding for academic projects based at public schools will be referred elsewhere. These grants have been funded from the proceeds of our annual appeal letter sent to our supporters each winter.

What people say

Pleasant Hill Rec & Park Thank you for supporting the Inclusive Recreation Dance. The attendees at the dance had a wonderful time as you can tell by all the smiles, and the photobooth was a big hit. Thank you so much for providing us with the resources to carry on the tradition of having a photobooth at the dance. We don’t turn anyone away who is unable to pay, and our grant helps ensure this event is fully inclusive.

Thank you once again for supporting our Playground Improvement Project. Your generosity allowed us to purchase developmentally appropriate sensory accessories, including climbing structures, sensory tables, interactive toys and balance stairs for our inclusive playground. We deeply appreciate all you do for We Care, and our community. Your investment is truly life-changing for at-risk children and their families. Thank you!
